Did you know that all classrooms are working on the ratio between student talk to teacher talk?
When students are able to explain their thinking, they are building communication skills as well as becoming more invested in their learning. This is also a great opportunity for students to share their thinking with classmates and small groups, learning to collaborate and work with others. Continued use of academic language and precise discourse is a way to infuse rigorous tasks as well as keep students on track with the lesson.

Lower Mills Virtue of the Month Student Showcase
Nyles from PreK-B, thank you for exemplifying Kindness to Others!
Arthur in PreK-B took Nyles' favorite toy train home one day by mistake. Arthur's family brought it back in the next day to give back to Nyles. Nyles and his mom wrote Arthur's family a thank you note for being so honest and sending it back into school...the best part, Nyles wrapped the toy train up in a napkin and put it with the note! Nyles decided he wanted his friend to have it since he loved the train so much! Arthur was so excited to know that Nyles' specifically wanted him to have his favorite toy train! We certainly know where Nyles' learned these amazing qualities, his mom is so helpful to our school and an active member of Parent Corps. I couldn't even stand that these two friends just turned 4 years old and they already know the impact of kindness, sharing and giving to others!
Stations of the Cross
As we prepare for Easter Sunday and the end of the season of Lent, a Holy Week tradition is to visit seven churches and pray at each church. Seven schools from the Archdiocese of Boston (one being SJP2CA~Lower Mills) collaborated to create one, unified Stations of the Cross virtual presentation. Each school showcased two Stations of the Cross at their parish/school and said a prayer. The presentation was shared so students from all schools can "visit" each other's parishes/schools virtually during Holy Week.
The Third and Fourth Stations at Saint Gregory's
The grade 4 students class presented a video reflection on the Third and Fourth Stations of the Cross as a part of our preparation for Lent. They used iMovie and YouTube to integrate the use of technology!
Join us on Monday, March 26th @ 10am at Saint Gregory's for the grade 8 performance of His Last Days.
Many hands, smiling faces, here at our Academy...
Please encourage our students to practice our school song at home! We will be singing it on Tuesdays at Morning Prayer Service.
