Kia ora everybody
Peyton from Room 6 blew me away last week. I was taking some of the juniors out for running fitness last Wednesday. The run hadn't even started and there were tears, such was her reluctance to run. After all of the little ones had finished their run- with varying degrees of effort throughout- I took the opportunity to have a firm word to the group. I told them that I wanted to see an improved attitude an effort with their running. Do it and then its done, no excuses. Lo and behold, Peyton was sent to my office the following afternoon with a huge smile on her face as she informed me that she ran the whole way. I am very proud of her and although these may seem like little moments they are actually big moments.
We have Dances for Schools in next week. They will be here for 2 weeks teaching dance. You may remember them from a few years ago in particular the performances they put on for our parents. So standby for more information about the performance which will likely be on Friday the 28th of May.
Do you have a Concern, Complaint or a Compliment? Our Concerns and Complaints process is available for viewing on our school website under the 'Parent Info' tab and then under 'School Policies'. You will see some useful flowcharts that outline the process. As far as compliments are concerned, we will take them in any way, shape or form. Emails and face to face compliments or positive feedback are equally well received by our staff.
We have our Grandparents Morning coming up on Friday the 11th of June which is Week 6. The morning will run from 8.30am through to 11am and we will have a host of things to share with our special visitors as well as a big morning tea. There will be more information to follow, but start making arrangements now if you want your grandparents to attend.
Congratulations to Miss Tupai for completing the Rotorua half marathon on Saturday (her first) despite severely damaging her ankle 12kms into the race! A great display of resilience Miss Tupai. Perhaps the GOAT Tongariro run next year?
Vaun Cooksley has been selected to fill the casual vacancy on our Board of Trustees. Vaun will be taking responsibility for the health and safety portfolio. Welcome Vaun.
A big thank you must go out to Pascoe Concrete Contracting who concreted a slab, free of charge- for our special bench to sit next to Mrs Truong's tree on the back field.
