Bi-Monthly Tech Tips
Technology tips you might find helpful in the classroom
Tuesday June 9th: Afternoon Technology Professional Development
The afternoon of June 9th after students leave, teacher's will be getting together to share what they have done with Haiku this year for others to learn and get ideas for next year. Similar to "Tech Mania" that took place January 2014, teacher's will sign up for time slots of categories they are interested in. There will be three, 40 minute sessions and I will send out the time slots after Memorial Day Weekend. Get ready for an afternoon of learning new tools and tricks of Haiku!
The End of the School Year is Approaching Soon
The school year will be over before we know it and wanted to share some ideas to get you thinking about how you are going to be using technology in your classroom for next year.
- Haiku was introduced this year, what are some ways you would like to expand and/or change your use of Haiku for your classes next year?
- How are you networking (ie: "Twitter," "Google + Communities," "Attending Conferences," working with me, etc) to build your knowledge and get ideas about using more technology in the classroom next year?
- Is there a unit that you have done with your class where you would like to use more purposeful integration of the device and for students to use higher order thinking skills? When you think about your goals for next year, I would love to help you use more technology in the classroom. I am available to sit down with you one-on-one, demo a technology tool to your students or observe you teaching a lesson and give some tech pointers. Feel free to email me myork@ndpma.org
Haiku: Using Assessments As Reviews For Exams
If you have done assessments on Haiku this second semester and would like students to have access to those assessments as a study tool for their exam, put a close date on the assessment and students can go into their Haiku page, click assessments and select the name of the assessment to go back and look at the questions and answer responses.

How Much Space You Have Left On Your Device?
Don't forget to keep checking the space available on your device. You can check this by selecting the file folder, clicking "This PC" and looking at your "Windows C" to see how much storage you have left. If there is not much left you will need to remove unnecessary files or uninstall unnecessary programs. Also, continue to save documents and files on Google Drive.
