Weekly November News
Week 2
Dear Parents,
We covered some new information this past week.
In Language Arts, we are focusing on producing a word that rhymes with a given word. We started by recognizing words that are in the "ill" and "own" word families through the nursery rhyme, Jack and Jill. We are beginning to identify and discover which words in the "ill" and "own" word family rhyme and the reasons to why those words rhyme.
In Math, we are learning about the number "10". The students are learning to recognize what the number "10" looks like and are beginning to incorporate "10" in our counting.
For Social Studies, we are focusing on "Around The World". The students are learning to identify which country we live in on the globe. The students also had a chance to pinpoint what country their parents or grandparents were from or where a family member lives.
In Science, we are learning about sound. The students are focusing on "What Makes Sound?" by experimenting with small instruments and common objects.
