- Join us for our Title 1 information presentation for parents at 5:00 pm in the gym. Do you want to learn more about Title 1 and what it does for our school? See you then!
Thank you for using crosswalks, parking in stalls, and having patience in the parking lot.
Remember not to double park so other cars can get out. Staff members are on duty and will be able to help if needed.
Thank you to all who continually support our campus. With your help, we are able to do more! Some of last year's fundraising was used for three new kindergarten centers and contributed to a new sound system for the gym. A major goal for this year is funding educational field trips!
September 8th is our READ-A-THON! Information will be coming home soon.
See you September 14th at 5:30pm. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Title 1 Reading Intervention
Hello families and Welcome to Tier 3 Reading Intervention! I am Miss Didion your Reading Interventionist along with Ms. Smith, Ms. Haus, Ms. Cuarao, and Ms. Vaughn. Together we work diligently to help readers blossom. Your children work hard daily in the classroom to develop their reading including decoding, comprehension, and fluency skills. We can always utilize extra participation to help strengthen your child’s skills. Tier 3 is here to help! How may you ask? Through extensive ongoing reading assessments and screening tools we identify student needs in the following areas: word recognition, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and test taking skills. When we see a need students participate in a daily thirty-minute program to review and strengthen those skills. We utilize various tools and fun engaging strategies, along with repetition for individual student growth and development.
How can you help at home you may ask?
- Set up a routine to read together daily for 20 – 30 minutes.
- Allow your student to re- read books.
- Create a routine and read at the same time every day.
- Make reading fun! Snuggle up on the couch with a great book.
A NOTE FROM THE NURSE
Have a safe and healthy September, Cougars!
