Title 1 Reading Intervention
Hello families and Welcome to Tier 3 Reading Intervention! I am Miss Didion your Reading Interventionist along with Ms. Smith, Ms. Haus, Ms. Cuarao, and Ms. Vaughn. Together we work diligently to help readers blossom. Your children work hard daily in the classroom to develop their reading including decoding, comprehension, and fluency skills. We can always utilize extra participation to help strengthen your child’s skills. Tier 3 is here to help! How may you ask? Through extensive ongoing reading assessments and screening tools we identify student needs in the following areas: word recognition, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and test taking skills. When we see a need students participate in a daily thirty-minute program to review and strengthen those skills. We utilize various tools and fun engaging strategies, along with repetition for individual student growth and development.
How can you help at home you may ask?
- Set up a routine to read together daily for 20 – 30 minutes.
- Allow your student to re- read books.
- Create a routine and read at the same time every day.
- Make reading fun! Snuggle up on the couch with a great book.
A NOTE FROM THE NURSE
Have a safe and healthy September, Cougars!
