Seminar: Thinking in Action - Do you want to be disruptive?
What to expect from the seminar?
Have a look at the opportunities on offer as part of our Thinking in Action series that provides opportunities to reflect and assess these skills along with tools that will help you to develop.
The modules on offer are:
* Thinking about Thinking: Importance of Reflection
* The Wood from the Trees: Information Literacy
* Habits of the Mind: Critical Thinking
* Experiment, Fail, Learn, Repeat: Creative Thinking
* Visualise and tell a Story: Design Thinking
Target Group: Professional marketing manager in junior and senior roles
We now seek pioneers to participate in our first pilot seminars. This is your chance to learn and apply the skills and tools immediately to your work environment and provide us with feedback on the applicability of the lessons learned.
All participants will be rewarded with a certificate upon completion of the series of sessions.

Module 2 The Wood from the Trees: Information Literacy
Details: We are in an era of information overload where it is important to know how to assess and process the data available to us. Efficiency and accuracy are two key components of information literacy. We will discuss how you think when evaluating data to ensure you have the right information and how you are applying this information. You will use a variety of research models to find and assess information throughout the session.

Details: Critical thinking is important when making decisions and training yourself to think critically will increase your success. It involves acknowledging your assumptions and other negative habits you may have. During this session we will:
* Explain why critical thinking is essential
* Identify the core critical thinking skills
* Concepts and tools for critical thinking
* Recognize the positive and negative habits

Module 4 Experiment, Fail, Learn, Repeat: Creative Thinking
Details: You are creative. The only difference between people who are creative and people who are not is a simple belief. Creativity is work and you must acknowledge that there is no right answer. Reality is ambiguous. During our session on creative thinking we will examine:
* Ways to enhance your creative abilities – creative diversity
* Brainstorming with convergent and divergent thinking
* Ambiguity: There is no right answer!
* Reconceptualise Failure: Testing your risk muscle!
* Importance of reinvention: Borrow, steal, transform!!

Module 5 Visualise and tell a Story: Design Thinking
Details: Design Thinking challenges us to change our perspective and mindset on how we create strategies and/or projects. It is a customer driven approach, used to great success by Apple and SAP, that looks at new ways to create advantage for business. During the session we will discuss tools to help you through the design thinking process focusing on synthesis, visualisation, iterative design and experience & intuition based decision making.
