NO TEACHERS LEFT BEHIND

We as a nation should show more support to our teachers. 50% of new teachers leave the profession within three years . Their main reason was little or no support. As a nation, we can provide consistent learning opportunities for teachers and ensure that they are not left behind in learning about new techniques and strategies . One way, to provide these opportunities is by offering mandatory professional learning activities throughout the year. Teachers should be held responsible for completing at least 5 training programs a year to advance their professional learning. Hoagland, A. E Birkenhead, K & Box .J mentions, professional learning communities provide the structure that must exist within a school in order to become effective. However, to truly prepare pre-service teachers to become effective collaborators, teacher education must provide them with the support they need to develop these skills. All teachers across the country should participate. I don’t believe their should be a consistent standard for all teachers to meet .Teachers undergo observations year round , their job should depend upon those observations results .Teachers are attending training programs and are given the support at their school and school system to successfully master the ISE Standards for teachers .
