Read Across America!
March 6th marked another Read Across America event in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Lower elementary students celebrated by reading Dr. Seuss' newly published book What Pet Should I Get? and had the opportunity to create and share their own pet - real or imagined. Upper elementary students participated in a Dr. Seuss trivia competition.
What's Happening in the Library?
1st Grade
Students have been working on accessing Destiny Quest on the chromebooks, ABC order, and finding books on their own in the library.
2nd Grade
Students learned how to access Destiny Quest from the chromebooks, log in with their account, write reviews, make holds and recommend books to friends.
3rd Grade
Students finished their Digital Citizenship lessons on Talking Safely Online and Powerful Passwords. Students will start practicing for the SBA.
4th Grade
Students are completing their Digital Citizenship lessons and are working on annotating articles on the computer.
5th Grade
Students are working on the OSPI 5th grade assessment entitled "You Decide" focusing on rights vs. responsibilities.
6th Grade
Students have finished their Digital Citizenship lessons and have started work on their fiction video book talks.
The Book Fair is Coming!
The book fair is set for April 4-8 and will be open before and after school. The book fair will not be open during recess since there is almost always a class using the library. We will also have an evening event on Wednesday, April 6 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Set up will take place on Friday, April 1st so feel free to stop by after school and fill out your wish lists! Flyers for all of your students will be put in your mailbox next week.
