Office of the Principal - Faculty Newsletter January 31st
Be prepared, this will be the annual time time each year that I will remind everyone to take a breath. I think a lot of the time we get wrapped up in the overwhelming feeling of having to do everything that is on the list (so to speak). This job is one that never ends. We aren’t ever really finished. As a first year principal, I have to remind myself this all the time. At the beginning of the year, I would work late each night and go home feeling like there was still so much to be done. There is no way to do it all. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t successful. I get to see your successes each day. And I mean every day. What you do here matters, and it matters a great deal to the students sitting in your room. Don’t ever let that overwhelming feeling distract you from the positive impact you make each day.
Another quick reminder that your classroom door should be locked all the time. Slide the magnet up and down to allow for access. We shouldn't need to check or lock our doors for lockdowns anymore.
Please make sure you are moving around outside on duty and not just standing in a group with other adults and talking. That being said, it’s hard to monitor kids when you are in one spot the whole time or sitting at a picnic table talking to peers. Please move around and be visible. Thank you, I appreciate it.
- Thank you to Mrs. Gifford, the Events Comittee, and all the teachers and staff members at our STEAM night. It had a great turn out and was fun for our families

Instructional Strategy- Movement in the Classroom
In a Gallery Walk, pairs of students share posters describing the strategy they used to solve a question or problem. Students rotate around the room, studying each group’s poster and leaving sticky notes with any questions or comments they might have.
