Events for May 16-20 (Orange Week)

Please return May reading calendars with the total minutes for the week. Please return leveled readers if your child is ready to read.
Field Trip to Manhattan: Please bring a sack lunch, two drinks with your name on them, wear comfortable shoes, and dress appropriately. It is supposed to be in the upper 50's and RAINY.

We will walk to the public library at 2:00 to learn more about the summer reading program. Information about the program will come home with your child.

Weekly Vocabulary: because, better, give, people, put
Spelling Words: little, letter, bubble, bigger, penny, running, follow, different
Spelling Sentences:
1. The boys follow the little puppy.
2. Is your letter different from mine?

Math: Practice math facts within 10 (addition and subtraction) to encourage fluency.

Nightly Reading: Our May reading goal is to read 200 minutes.

What can I reinforce at home?

Reading – reviewing reading skills

Math – two digit addition with regrouping

Practice math facts within 10 and 20! This will help build fluency and gain confidence with our daily sprints from Engage New York.

Field Trip

We will leave Lincoln at 8:45. We should have enough room for those that are wanting to ride with us on the bus. Please dress appropriately and wear comfortable shoes. There is a chance of rain on this day. Each person needs a sack lunch a 2 drinks with their name on them. Parents who have not paid their $6 will need to pay at the Discovery Center.

End of the Year Picnic

Our class picnic will be Thursday, May 19th. We will leave the school around 10:00 and return around 3:00. I will be contacting room parents with more information about the day. Each child will need a sack lunch, drink, comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen.
