Weaver Lake Family Newsletter
April 2022
Message from the Principal
Greetings Weaver Lake Families,
Happy Spring and Trimester III! It's hard to believe that spring break is here and we only have a few months of school left of this school year. Whether you as parents are off or not, I hope that all of you have the opportunity to refresh and rejuvenate yourselves with family and friends.
I'd like to give recognition to our PTO and all those that contributed in volunteer hours and monetarily. This spring your students will be able to play outside at recess with Big Blue Blocks from Imagination Playground. They will also all be experiencing an artist-in-residency which will go along with their STEM curriculum. They will be hosting Engineering Night for families this April and the school carnival in May. They sponsor many other things for the school such as patrol parties, the library, classroom supplies, and so much more. We are grateful for all their hard work and support!
Please continue to do a daily health screening with your child(ren) before coming to school. If you need a COVID test kit, send me an email or call the office and we will send one home with your students. We are aware that spring also brings on allergies. Just let us know if your child's symptoms have to do with allergies or something else. If you suspect that your child has Covid-like symptoms or tests positive, please report that to the school by calling the office.
Let us know if you have questions, concerns, or positives by emailing your child's teacher, calling the office or emailing me! Let's have a great spring together!

Update From Volunteer Coordinator
Hello Weaver Lake Elementary Volunteers!
Thank you to all of the volunteers who made the Spring Scholastic Book Fair happen! Thanks in part to you, the PTO was able to provide the teachers and media center with several much needed books. The Book Fair would not have been a success without your hard work and time!
We are currently looking for volunteers to help out with our CEAP Stuff the Food Truck collection. The date is Tuesday, April 5 and we will need volunteers to help collect the curbside donations and load them into the CEAP truck. If you’re interested in helping, please sign-up here.
There are two other big events to watch your inbox for. One is the rescheduled Engineering Night. The new date is Wednesday, April 27th. We are leaning on our parent and community volunteers more heavily this year to give our teachers a break, so please consider helping out for part or all of that event! The other big event is the Weaver Lake Carnival! After being canceled in 2020, this event is back and needs many hands to make it work. More details will come, but mark your calendars for May 13!
In addition to those big events, this spring has seen many smaller volunteer opportunities across the grade levels. If you are not registered as a volunteer, you could be missing out. Please be sure to fill out the volunteer application to be included in the mailing list for those events! https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/Nzg0OmVuLVVT
