The Smokey Jungle Frog
A special species of frogs in the leptodactylidae family
Basic information
The smokey jungle frogs are a species of frogs in the leptodactylidae family. These frogs have a dark brown body with black spots and stripes. The juveniles are omnivores and large adults are carnivores. The large adults eat large Arthropods (Insects), frogs, lizards, snakes, small birds and mammals. Tadpoles eat vegetations (plants), other tadpoles, and even eggs of their own species. Their predators are mainly coatimundis, snakes and caimans. Hatching larvae from a flies egg devours the mass of eggs and foam in frog clutches.
Survival
This incredible frog lives in South America and has a habitat near swamps and slowly flowing streams in forests. They have an anti-predator defense, they're sloppy and are even poisonous. So, if someone were to touch them hey would get skin rashes and stings. They sometime even have sneezing or get swelling in their eye. If a smokey jungle frog faces a predator, they will make themselves look more threatening by inflating and making them self appear larger. They can usually live for 15 years and are great at survival.
