Leadership Message
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. John 4:9
As we enter into Holy Week, we become mindful of the sacrifice Jesus made for each of us and the eternal love of God that surrounds us unconditionally. This week we will remember, pray, weep, and we will rejoice! It can be challenging to talk to young children about the Passion of Christ, however, this is a beautiful opportunity to help our children connect to the core of our Christian faith and the hope for eternal life with God.
There is hope and joy in knowing that after sacrifice and pain comes eternal glory with God, our Father. Sometimes it can be difficult for our children to understand the suffering of Jesus. There is hope in coming together as Christians to love in times of suffering and pain. What do we do when one of our own are hurting or in pain?We pray, we care, we support, we love, we remember God’s love for each of us. Reminding our children that there is a beautiful call for God’s people to respond in crisis and suffering. This is LOVE and FAITH in action! In their worlds, our students respond with LOVE and FAITH when they include others, pray for the needs of others, share their belongings, and love without conditions. May each of us remember to respond to suffering with love and remain steadfast in our joy of the hope that Easter brings!
May you and your family experience the joy and love of God this Easter and always.
Blessings,
Mrs. Boehm

Our Young Citizens & Earth Day
Message from our SJXXIII Young Citizen Leadership Squad: Earth Day/Week
Our planet is an amazing place, but it needs our help to thrive! That’s why each year on April 22, more than a billion people celebrate Earth Day. Earth Day is a time to come together and support our environment’s protection from things like pollution and deforestation. By taking part in activities like picking up litter, making our lunches litter-less and using less power we are making our world a happier, healthier place to live.
Our school will be participating in all three activities during Earth week. On Tuesday we will all pitch in to beautify our playground and field area by picking up as much litter as we can. On Wednesday we are asking all the students to reduce the amount of waste in their lunches by bringing a litterless lunch. We wonder which class will have the least amount of waste on this day? Our Young Citizens will be giving stickers to all participants. On Thursday the school will participate in 'One hour No power'. Each class will shut off the power for one hour out of the day to reduce the amount of electricity we consume.
Our environment has a large impact on our health and well being. Lets all pitch in and do our part in taking care of the environment.
