Unpacking the AASL Standards Framework
In August 2018, SLS sponsored attendance at the NYLA-SSL Leadership Institute in Syracuse. Participants dug deep into the domains, competencies, shared foundations, and key commitments that make up the new standards. The hands-on work sessions provided opportunities to develop lesson plans and explore strategies for putting the standards into action. There was also plenty of time for networking and lively, collegial conversations!
North Rose - Wolcott Elementary librarian Darcy Barber was one of the librarians in the W-FL region who attended the conference. She was eager to bring back to her library the ideas and lessons she learned in Syracuse.
