An Update From The Bear Den

It is a special week at Danville Elementary, May 3rd - 7th is Teacher Appreciation Week! We are very lucky to have an AMAZING staff of teachers at Danville, that work hard everyday to help our students grow.

We will have several activities going on throughout the week to show this special group of people our appreciation. Our students can help too! Here are some easy ways for students to show their appreciation for their favorite teachers.

*Give your teacher an "air" high five or elbow bump and tell them how much you appreciate them.

*Write your teacher a letter or make them a card.

*Take your teacher a flower from your yard.

*Create a poster and include everything you love about your teacher.

*Take a special snack to your teacher.

*Draw them a picture of the two of you together.

Thank you for helping to make this a special week for our staff members!

Read on for more updates from the Bear Den! Have a great week!

Preschool Open House

Danville Elementary and Early Learning Center will host a 4 Year Old Preschool Open House on Thursday, May 6th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. All prospective and incoming preschool students and their parents can visit the classroom and meet the staff that evening. Students will have an opportunity to check out the classroom centers, as well as see what some of the daily activities will be at Preschool.

Danville is still accepting students for our 4 Year Old Preschool class for the 2021 - 2022 school year. Students do not have to live in the Danville School District. Parents that live outside of the district can enroll their child in Preschool without completing open enrollment papers. In addition, Danville does not charge a monthly tuition for Preschool like many programs do. Parents will pay a one time $45 enrollment fee at the beginning of the school year.

Please feel free to share this information with prospective parents that may not receive the Danville Elementary Newsletter.

Mask Requirement

Due to the CDC's recommendation for contact tracing and quarantine regulations, Danville will continue to require masks for all staff and students through the remainder of the school year.

We are asking for your assistance in making sure your child has at least two masks in his/her backpack each day. The office has given out approximately 2,000 masks this year. We are starting to run low. The white masks that students receive from the office are washable and reusable. Students can continue to use them after the day they receive them.

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in making sure that your child has a mask each day. Thank you!
