ROHO Family Update
November newsletter
A Note from the Principal
How are we already twelve weeks into the year and it’s already November?! The first semester is truly flying by! It was wonderful to see so many of you on campus last month for parent conferences, and all the concerts, games, student productions, booster club meetings, and events we host each week.
November is the beginning of the 3rd six weeks, and just three weeks away from Thanksgiving Break. We’d love to invite you to join us for our annual parent engagement meeting on Monday November 18th at 6pm in the Rider Library. This event is for parents of current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. We will be sharing information about course selection and scheduling for the 2020-2021 year, as well as endorsements, graduation plans, and college, career and military pathways. Snacks and drinks will be provided. We will be sharing more info in the coming weeks.
Please check out the calendar below and info in the newsletter for more upcoming dates.
Lastly, we had much to celebrate at Rider in October!
- Our Band, Choir, and Orchestra students competed successfully at the Region and Area rounds for UIL!
- Our Tennis team clinched a playoff birth with an upset victory over WFHS! We also wrapped up a successful Cross Country season where we qualified one female runner for Regionals!
- Our Volleyball and Football teams are wrapping up successful district campaigns and begin playoffs this week and next week!
- Congratulations to AP Spanish teacher Maria Cruz for being selected as a West Foundation Teaching Excellence Award winner!
- We had 180 juniors take the National Merit Qualifying PSAT exam last month, with another 110 freshman scheduled for the PSAT 9 exam next week! Plus more than 350 sophomore and juniors took the TSI math, reading, and writing tests to measure college preparedness.
Thanks for supporting your students and us as we seek to equip them for success after high school. We are honored to work alongside you in this journey.
Go ROHO! One family, one team!
