Planning for Mann Middle in the Fall

Hello Mann Families! Over the weekend, San Diego Unified made some critical decisions about the start of school in the fall. From here, we will begin planning. We don't know much, but I wanted to sent what we do know.

Start of School Update #1

Many of you have reached out to me given the most recent reporting in the news. I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you a little bit of information at this time.

  • The San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Educators Association (teachers’ union) recently came to an agreement regarding a variety of topics which included the structure and length of the school day during online learning.
  • A key component of this agreement states that the school day will include 3 hours of live online whole group; small group instruction, capped at three teaching periods per school day; two hours independent learning and one hour working with other students in small groups or participating in educator office hours.
  • Exact start times or the overall structure of the day has not been determined yet.
