Student-Led Conferences
Student-led conferences are on Thursday next week in the afternoon. Students have an early dismissal day at 11:45. This is a day meant for you to have meaningful conversation with your child about what they are learning, their goals, and how you can help them achieve their goals. This conference is meant to be led by your child, but we will be in the room to guide them as they meet with you. :)
Please view the sign up and choose a 30 minute time slot where you will come to school and your child will conference with you. If for some reason you cannot make it next Thursday, we can always prep your child to have the conference with you at home if need be :)

Field Trip - Dallas World Aquarium
The deadline for chaperones has already passed. If you still would like to go, you will have to buy your ticket at the aquarium ($23) and you will only be assigned your child to supervise.
We can't wait to go to the aquarium!
Passing Along Our Fixed-Minded Views
We found this article (published this week) to send a great message about how adults can influence a child's mindset. We found this quote especially powerful:
"What predicts children's fixed and growth intelligence mind-sets? Not their parent's views of intelligence but their parent's views of failure."
We found it a great reminder in how to model the acceptance of failure with students as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Did you know that Thursdays in the district are known as "Superfoodie Thursdays?" This is where we introduce students to new foods in our cafeteria. January's food? The carrot! Take a look here to learn more:
