A Message from Dr. Lambert
Happy Dance Fit Day,
It has been an amazing day of Boosterthon Dance Fit celebrations at Bush. Students were dancing with joy and excitement throughout the day. I am not really sure how any of them recognized me with my new hair cut. (See the picture to the left -- or below if you are on a mobile device.) Somehow, though, every child seemed to know who I was. My good friend Vivien even told me I was hilarious! I think they could all see my smile through the mask.
As we began the year talking about Boosterthon and fundraising, my primary concern was (and it still is) using this event to build community. I am sad that families could not be part of this event, but the feeling of community among our Bobcats was something special today. Whether Tobi was challenging me with his dance moves, Rhett was requesting another selfie with me, or students in Mrs. DePedro's class were asking about our soon to be Silly String battle, it was a day for the ages.
I can't let the day go by without thanking each of you. We raised well over our fundraising goal. But more importantly, we had kids create announcements for their peers over the last couple of weeks, and we saw everyone enjoy a time of community. In the end, all that really matters to me is that this was fun for the kids!
Take good care,
Dr. Jarod Lambert

Referral Requests for Gifted and Talented Testing
Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January for both remote and in-person platforms, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Referrals will be accepted through December 18. You may request a referral form from the front office or the Assistant Principal. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage.
Student safety is a high priority in CISD. You or your student may report suspected dangers through Kid Chat or Anonymous Alerts. Through our Kelso lessons at Bush, we talk about the difference between
“small” problems and “big” problems. Big problems require going to a trusted adult for help. Please talk with your student and encourage them to report any suspected dangers to an adult at school or at home.
