Important Upcoming Dates at AVHS

June 20-23, June 27-30 - Credit Recovery for Math & Science Courses (8am to 12pm)

July 11-14, July 18-21 - Credit Recovery for Social Studies & English Courses (8am to 12pm)

August 31 - First Days of School (All Grades)

September 1 - Students attend regularly scheduled classes

September 2, 3, 4, 5 - NO SCHOOL

September 6 - Return to classes

September 12 - 17 - Homecoming Week

Credit Recovery

What? Credit Recovery will be offered this summer for those who have received an incomplete or fail for required courses. Credit recovery does NOT mean the entire course - it means that you must show proficiency for learning that has not occurred…yet. We will be offering MATH, SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES, and ENGLISH options.



Session One- June 20-23, June 27-30

Time is from 8:00-12:00pm

Transportation is provided if living in the district.

Registration for Summer Camps

Develop Your Sports Skills with our High School Coaches!
We’re collaborating with high school coaches to host a variety of quality, exciting sports camp opportunities for athletes in Kindergarten – 12th grade. Head coaches and assistants have planned and prepared camp activities that will promote skill improvement and good sportsmanship, all while having fun! Participants should register for camps based on their grade for the 2022-23 school year. Hurry, register now! Sports camps are filling fast!

We look forward to welcoming ALL of our students and staff back to Apple Valley High School on Wednesday, August 31st. The first day and following weeks of the 2022-23 school year will have a strong focus on building relationships, community, culture, and connecting with friends, faculty, and staff including the opportunity to take advantage of:

  • Meeting your teachers and classmates
  • Walking your schedule and becoming familiar with course expectations
  • Learning about the AAA Philosophy (Academics, Arts, Athletics) and STEM Programs

Summer Every Meal Food Bags

We are continuing our partnership with Every Meal this summer to provide weekend bags of non-perishable food for families. The bags will be available in the secure vestibule at every elementary, middle, and high school and our three learning centers beginning June 13.

You may pick up food between 7:15 am & 3:15 pm, Monday through Thursday at Apple Valley High School or at any other location that is convenient for you (times may vary), click here to view a district map.

Resource Collection

Students to Keep iPads/Hotspots Over the Summer

Students will again be allowed to keep their district-issued iPads and hotspots over the summer. This allows learning opportunities to continue throughout the summer. Exceptions include graduating seniors and students unenrolling from District 196. For more details and guidance around this, please visit this website which can also be found in the About menu of the district’s website (http://www.district196.org). If you have questions, contact your child’s school or submit at https://www.district196.org/techhelp. Thank you.

Other school resources like textbooks, calculators and library items needed to be returned by the end of the school year.

Unenrolling from the district over the summer? Return the iPad and other school resources to your child’s school or the nearest District 196 school. If you have children in multiple schools, all school resources can be returned to a single school. If you are out of the region and need to mail the iPad and other school resources back to the district, please send them to the following address via any shipping carrier:
