Positivity Project
This week's character strength focus is Perspective.
Perspective is our Positivity Project trait for the week.
Perspective means you appreciate when people see things in
different ways. You have the ability to
understand the world from multiple points of
view.
Perspective is also referred to as wisdom and is distinct
from intelligence. People with this strength are sought out
for advice because they see the big picture and can make
sense of the world’s complexity. This strength of
perspective gives individuals the ability to see to the heart
of difficult matters and achieve clarity. Most importantly,
they are honest and behave in an ethically consistent
manner.
Perspective is usually gained over time, as one
accumulates more knowledge and experiences. However,
developing perspective is not only a matter of time. It
comes from truly listening to others when they talk and
books, listening to stories, or watching movies.
Resuable Grocery Bags Wanted

Bus Cards for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Students
Giesinger Families,
In a continued effort to increase student safety, the transportation department in conjunction with Giesinger Elementary is implementing Pre-K and Kindergarten bus cards.
Parents, designated adult, or approved sibling must be at the bus stop with the yellow card to receive Pre-K and/or kindergarten students. If no one is there to receive the student, they will be returned to school. It is the responsibility of the parent to pick up the student(s) from the school.
This week, yellow bus rider cards will go home with our current bus students. If you need an additional sign or have changed your student's transportation to the bus, please email your child's teacher and we will get you a sign sent home.
We are excited about this new step in ensuring our pre-k and kindergarten students are connected to the correct people at their bus stop.
Thank you,
Giesinger Elementary

Attendance and Tardies
Attendance: Our school-wide attendance has been great! On average, 98% of our students have been present each day this year. Attendance is the number one indicator of student success. The instruction and learning that occur on a daily basis in the classroom is our central mission. Parents who make regular school attendance and punctuality a high priority are helping their children learn to accept responsibility, which is an important lesson for a successful life. We encourage students to become N.E.A.T. Kids—Never Ever Absent or Tardy. Students with no absences or tardies each grading period will receive a certificate and participate in a fun celebration. We strive for all our students to arrive at school before 8:00 each and every day!
Tardies: Our school doors open at 7:30 a.m. and may go to the cafeteria for breakfast or to their classroom to begin their day. Students are tardy if they are not in the builing at 8:00 a.m. Our instructional school day begins at 8:00 a.m and teachers/staff leave the front porch at 8:00 a.m.
Please email our front office for attendance questions at giesinger@conroeisd.net or Mrs. Rickwalt, the registrar, at rrickwalt@conroeisd.net. You may also call the front office at 936-709-2600.
