Mrs. Boschen's Weekly News

February 8 - 12, 2016

This Week's News

In math this week, we are putting a pause button on our fractions unit to participate in a magnet vertical geometry unit. Students will be working with one of the magnet teachers to develop a deeper understanding of geometry with students from all 4 magnet classes. We are really looking forward to this experience!

We are also going to begin our persuasive writing unit this week. Our first set of lessons will be around the idea of persuasive speeches to help us consider who our audience is. Ms. Leard and maybe Mr. Hade will be coming in to listen to what we have to say!

Finally, we will be continuing to work on our poetry unit. We will spend a few more days this week focusing on some foundational skills and understandings before students will dive deeper into poetry based on their MAPS scores. We will also be starting our group biography studies this week.

THANK YOU!

I once again want to give a special shout of THANKS to Melissa Gibson for coming in (on very short notice) to work with the class on our project for the SGA silent auction. Stay tuned for pictures of the final project and information about the silent auction!
