October 2019

A Note from our Principal, Mrs. Fore

We are continuing to have a great 2019-2020 school year. Our students and teachers are working very hard, and with your support at home we are a dream team! We couldn’t do this job without you!

This month will be very busy with both Fire Prevention Week and Red Ribbon Week!

We are loving our new PBIS Rewards system! Talk to your children about their points, and what they are choosing to “spend” them on!

Thank you all for your support and for sharing your children with us each day!

During Red Ribbon Week we will celebrate being drug free with our annual Trunk-or-Treat on Thursday, October 31st. A letter will be going home soon asking for donations to provide all of our students with a treat and a special message to be drug free. Parents are welcome to volunteer to help pass out these treats and join in the fun. Just contact Mrs. Swygert at 321-2616.

Birthdays at School

If you are sending snacks with your child for their birthday, please remember they must be store bought treats. We cannot allow you to bring homemade treats for students.

Please remember it is so important for students to be on time and at school each and every day! Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, avoid dangerous behavior and have a better chance of graduating from high school. When kids are absent for an average of just two days of school per month – even when the absences are excused – it can have a negative impact. When students are absent for fewer days, their grades and reading skills often improve—even among those students who are struggling in school. Students who attend school regularly also feel more connected to their community, develop important social skills and friendships, and are significantly more likely to graduate from high school, setting them up for a strong future.
