It's an Enchanted Forest in the SE Lit Lab!
Dear Parents and Families:
Did you know? Reading just 20 minutes a day exposes your child to about 1.8 million words per year. Reading helps students develop a stronger vocabulary, and in addition, students who read for pleasure average higher grades in English, mathematics, science, and history!
Mark your calendar to join us for a celebration of reading! November 14-20!
We'll be open late on Wednesday, November 14 for Family Night. We'll also be open Saturday morning, November 17, during the PTO Pancake Feed/Basket Auction!
Visit scholastic.com/fair for more information. We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair!
Sincerely,
Julie Rains

Bring In Your Spare Change!
Bring a dollar or handful of spare silver change (no pennies please) each day and fill your grade level donation jar. Money collected will then be used to purchase books from our book fair for military families registered with Operation Paperback.

Sunflower Site Council Meetings 2018-2019
The Sunflower Site Council will be meeting at 6 pm in the library on the following dates: 9/11/18, 11/13/18, 2/5/19, 4/9/19.
All meetings are open to the public.
Kansas schools are required to establish site councils composed of the principal, teachers and other school personnel, parents, business representatives, and other community groups.
Site councils have a responsibility to provide advice and counsel in the following areas: evaluating district and school performance goals and objectives,
determining methods to meet those goals and objectives,
and other areas as requested by the board of education.
Remember, the work of the site council is advisory only;
it makes recommendations, not decisions.
