Spring is FINALLY here!!

Thankfully we are experiencing warmer weather! The class (including myself) has enjoyed getting outside more frequently. Sunshine is just what we needed!

Last week, we finished up our unit on Plants. We had a lot of fun exploring and getting our hands dirty - literally! This week, we will jump into our last science concept. Simple Machines. On Wednesday, I will kick off our unit and send home letters explaining the details of our final project in 3rd grade. Keep an eye out!

Last week, we also finished up Unit 10 in math. Those tests will be going home this week. I have decided to hold off on Unit 11 until after the math portions of ISTEP. Their brains need a break. We are doing some fun math activities in between. Ask you kiddo about optical illusions!

Reading: We are working on the art of poetry. Again, this should be a fun unit as we dive into our final round of ISTEP. We are moving forward, but I am trying to be mindful to the rigor of the next two weeks' schedules.
