Family Inquirer
Week of 05/17/21
Greetings ICEF Innovation Families,
We have four more weeks a school. It may not sound like a lot, but we have a lot of learning planned for our students between now and the last day of school. Please make sure that your children attend school everyday, including Wednesdays. Please also make sure they are completing all of their asynchronous work. Completion of this work will better prepare them to take their FastBridge assessments.
FastBridge testing begins this week, Monday, May 17. You should have been contacted by your child's teacher with testing times (if your child is virtual), or with a testing schedule (if your child is in-person). Please have your child eat a healthy breakfast each day, and get plenty of rest the night before, each day they are scheduled to test. They will also need a quiet place to take their tests, if they are virtual only.
Remember that students MUST be COVID tested, before they will be allowed to be on campus each week. If your child was tested at another location, you must forward their results to phernandez@icefps.org, before they will be allowed to attend class.
Be sure to read the Family Inquirer in its entirety. There is valuable information and resources. If you have any questions, please reach out to the main office at (323) 290-6997.
Have a FABULOUS week!

Panorama Family Survey - We want to know your thoughts about this school year.
Our Spring 2020-2021 ICEF Embrace the Mind Parent Survey has launched! Each of you, who have an email address in PowerSchool, received the following email last week with a unique access link that connects the survey to their child and your school.
This year, your child's school partnered with Panorama Education to survey families about your experiences and perceptions at this school. Your responses will remain completely confidential, which means that no one at this school will ever see your individual responses. We (Panorama Education) are managing this process to ensure security.
The results of this survey will help your child’s school administrators better understand the perceptions of families at your school. Survey data will be used by administrators to identify strengths and areas for growth.
To complete your survey, please click the following link: Your unique access link
If you have trouble accessing the online survey, please contact us at support+icef@panoramaed.com.
Thank you for your participation and for being a valued member of your school community.
We would like to have 100% participation. The survey only takes 2-5 minutes to complete. If you did not receive the email or need help, please contact the main office.

Emergency Broadband Assistance
The Federal Communications Commission is launching two new programs designed to financially support broadband access and devices for students and low-income families through the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program will provide up to $50 per month toward home internet service for eligible low-income families and up to $75 per month for families on Tribal lands. The EBB program also may provide a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating internet providers.
Academics
Lexia & Achieve 3000: (ICEF Core Values of COMMUNITY, EQUITY, and GROWTH)
Students should logon to Lexia (TK-3rd and some 4th and 5th graders), and Achieve 3000 (4th and 5th only) daily. These programs allow students to practice reading and reading comprehension, improving on their skills and being exposed to a variety of different texts to include fiction and non fiction. Make it a habit to ask your children if they are using these programs. You can also see how they are progressing by looking at their accounts or reaching out to their classroom teacher to get a comprehensive report.
Operations and Logistical
