Chapter 5,6,7
Chapter 5
Chapter 5 is all about socialization and how we develop our personality. The first section is whether we get our main personality from Nature or Nurture. Nurture uses the incidents of feral children to prove that our personality comes from socialization. The second section is about how we see ourselves and how we prepare for the new social interactions. The third section. is about what groups socialization occurs. This includes the family, schools, peer groups and Mass media. These groups affect socialization in their own ways.
Chapter 6
Chapter 6 is about adolescence, teenagers, and what they do. Section 1 is about adolescence. During this period, adolescents are treated as either young adults or still children. This is often a confusing time for them. Section 2 is about dating. Dating is fairly new and can contribute a lot to teenagers. Section 3 is the threats and consequences of teenagers. Sex, drugs and other things fall into here.
Chapter 7
Chapter 7 is all about adulthood, How adults grow and develop and their stages of life. Men and women develop in many similar ways. However, there are some key differences such as career having less meaning than marriage for women. Adults make up the workforce and is essential to an adult's life. Money is earned from the workforce, but not all people are happy with where they work. Most people are happy, but factors such as income, race, and age influence whether people are happy or not. When you keep growing old you start to slow down. Options start to appear such as retiring. Your body also starts to deteriorate.
