Prospect Family Newsletter
#weareinthistogether #prospectpride
It is hard to believe that we are moving into the last week of October. The Prospect staff and I continue to collaborate and work together to plan the best experience for our students in both the hybrid/remote learning models. It is a new learning experience for all of us and we truly appreciate you partnership.
At the October PTO meeting, I shared some celebrations about our overall MAP scores along with our School Improvement Plan (SIP). Each and every year, all of the schools create School Improvement Plans with goals and strategies on how we plan to reach our goals. Our SIP goal is 80% of students will meet or exceed the 69th percentile on the spring administration of Reading/Math MAP.
After analyzing our data with the staff, I am so excited to share our results this school year. Last year our Fall 2019 overall reading results in grades 2-5 was 70% of our students were at at 69% meeting or exceeding on their MAP tests. At the Winter 2020 benchmark our overall scores improved to 74.4%. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to take the Spring assessment, but our Fall 2020 scores show that 78% of our students are meeting or exceeding the 69% in reading.
Our Fall 2019 overall math results in grades 1-5 was 78% of our students were at at 69% meeting or exceeding on their MAP tests. At the Winter 2020 benchmark our overall scores improved to 78.8%. and our Fall 2020 scores show that 80% of our students are meeting or exceeding the 69% in math.
As we celebrate how well our students are doing and our Fall scores, we reflect on last school year, and discuss the new structures and strategies that we put in place to improve learning for all in our School Improvement Plan. With this being another unique year, we continue to discuss strategies to put in place this school year to continue to move students forward.
We have such an incredible, passionate staff at Prospect that puts in many hours of collaboration and planning to ensure we continue to move learning forward. And we know we can't forget the students and families. We truly recognize the challenges that each family endured last spring as well as now during the hybrid/remote learning models. We are truly in this together and will continue to partner with you to do what's best for the children!
THANK YOU

Costume Reminders: Costumes should be appropriate for a school environment and elementary age school children and should not reflect violence. Costumes that reflect blood and gore should not be worn. “Look alike” weapons are prohibited at school as well as make believe guns, knives or weapons of any kind. Students will still be required to wear a mask with their costume.
Remote Yearbook Pictures
This year our yearbook committee is requesting your help more than ever. We are relying on parents to provide us with as many pictures as possible to create a yearbook of memories for our kiddos.
Throughout the year we will have links to add photos to a shared folder on our yearbook website, Treering. These links will be able to be found on the Prospect PTO website under the Yearbook tab.
We will incorporate different themes and photo requests and provide a link for each so please check the prospectus or website for updated “event” folders.
We have set up a remote learning link for you to upload photos for the yearbook. https://yearbook.treering.com/school/143910/photos/shared-photo-folders/171942259
