Dolphin Digest Purpose
A Message from Mrs. Baker
Only five days until our much deserved Thanksgiving week break!
I feel so blessed and thankful to be part of our school family. I am thankful for my many blessings including my family (both at home and at school!), and for my profession which allows me to touch the future, because it is more than a job...it is a passion and a calling.
I am very proud of the work you do each and every day! The countless hours put into your planning and team work, and your care for each and every one of your students. I know that your work is a labor of love.
Let’s continue to support each other in being able to find the way to balance ‘me’ and ‘family’ time, as well as accomplish the work in front of us! Thank you for your professionalism and support as we seek ways to help us do the job that we have been called to for our life’s work! Wherever you are going, and with whomever you are spending your Thanksgiving break, may you have a week filled with love, laughter, and joy while celebrating your blessings with your loved ones. I salute you and wish for each of you ‘attitudes of gratitude’ during this Thanksgiving holiday.

News to Note
- Safety Drill: This week we will have our Closed Campus Safety Drill. It is a little different than ones we have done this year, as it more similar to a Lockdown. Please read the information and if you have any questions, please let me know.
- Drama Club Room Rotation: We will begin rotating the Drama Club rooms rotation in December. If you teach ELP on Drama Club day your name will be pulled our to the hat.
- Lakeview Tour Link: We are giving tours to prospective families for the 2020/21 School Year. Please share the link below with anyone interested in program. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0944ADAE2AA1F49-lakeview1
- IAC Communications: Please turn in infractions within one day. Failure to return infractions in a timely manner could lead to an appeal or no action. (Repeat)Please ensure that you are sending home IAC sign and return letters in a timely manner to avoid potential parent appeals. These matters have to be made priority. Please communicate with Sheila is there is a delay with the return of a sign and return letter.
- ELP Visits: I will be coming through to observe ELP's sessions in the coming weeks. We may even get a visit from Mr. Poth to some of our ELP sessions. Additionally I am working on a partnership with the Sanderlin Center to extend our dreambox program to the students who walk over after school. If you are interested in teaching ELP you can start right away. Let me know.
- News Studio/Clinic: Our news studio will be relocated to the media center this week. The studio room will be converted to clinic. The space is needed to treat a diabetic student. Please continue to send students to the office for clinic needs as the nurse is not at Lakeview full time.
- Holiday Shutdown: Please begin preparing now to shut down your electronics during fall and winter break. According to district guidelines, all personal appliances must be emptied, unplugged, defrosted, cleaned, and left open by their owners over break. Mini-fridges must be cleaned out and defrosted before you leave for break. Coffee pots MUST be unplugged and cleaned out too!You will be responsible for the following:Turn off/unplug classroom computers and monitors.Secure laptops, iPads and other valuable inventory.Close blinds to buffer interiors from solar heating effects.Unplug small appliance such as coffee pots, toasters, broilers, and mini refrigerators. Defrost your personal fridge - put a good sized towel inside (on the bottom of) fridge to absorb the melting frost buildup. This works best if it is done on Wednesday night (Thursday night at the latest), and please take your wet towels home with you to avoid causing a humidity issue. Remove leftovers from the common refrigerators. Remaining items may be disposed over the break. Plant ops will start cleaning the school owned / common refrigerators at 4:00pm on Friday. Water your plants or take them home. Don't forget to take care of these items before you go on break!

Personalized Learning Platform Grades 3-5
The essence of PLP is so that students, particularly those in your lower performing subgroups who may not have educational tools & resources readily available to do so, use Clever. Please encourage students to take advantage of this terrific tool. How are you communicating to parents about this unique tool and its capabilities?
