Join the Fight Against Cancer!

Flushing-Swartz Creek Relay for Life

Dear Swartz Creek Staff Members and Community,

There is something amazing happening in our community! It’s the Flushing-Swartz Creek Relay For Life (June 13th at Flushing High School) and we can all be a part of this life-changing event! Everyone has been touched by cancer in one way or another. Let's fight back and support each other as a community. If you have ever wondered how you can make a difference, then please join us in our efforts to support the American Cancer Society.

A few years ago, the community of Swartz Creek was asked to join Flushing’s Relay for Life event and the Flushing-Swartz Creek Relay was born. When Team Morrish joined, two years ago, we didn’t know where to start, but knew we wanted to make a difference. Luckily, the monthly meetings we attended (and still go to) gave us a TON of knowledge and support in each step of our journey. We are looking for other teams to join us in our monumental fight to save lives and honor those who we have lost.

This year there is even a county-wide mini Relay for Life kickoff event. Here you can experience the highlights of an actual Relay while having the opportunity to walk around and ask questions…and eat desserts. :)

There are so many ways you can get involved! Here are a few ideas:

• Form a school/group team and walk for part or all of the Relay hours.

• Fundraise at your school.

• Recruit cancer survivors/caregivers to attend Relay for Life of Flushing Swartz Creek.

This event is very near and dear to our hearts and we truly want to share this experience with all of you; our co-workers and friends. We would LOVE to see the Relay track filled with Swartz Creek teams! PLEASE join us for an informational meeting on Thursday, January 29th at 4:15 in room 143 at Morrish. If you’re unable to attend, please contact us with your questions.

Working together to find a cure,

Team Morrish

Co-Captains: Amy Brimmer (810) 394-5270 & Kim Hunault (810) 964-2419

Please join all of us to fight back against cancer, as we hope to raise money and one day find a cure!

Flushing-Swartz Creek Relay for Life (Saturday to Sunday)

Saturday, June 13th, 10am-10pm

Flushing High School, Flushing charter Township, MI, United States

Flushing, MI

At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer – just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!

Relay For Life teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school, park, or fairground. Because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.

RSVPs are enabled for this event.
