Happy Spring!
"I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden." --Ruth Stout
The Wolverine Library Celebrates Read Across America/Dr. Seuss' Birthday!
In conjunction with NEA's Read Across America, students at PSJA Memorial ECHS had the opportunity to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2nd. During the the lunch periods, students became artists when frosting became the paint and graham crackers the canvas. They had the opportunity to "paint" their favorite Dr. Seuss characters then eat them! Much fun was had by all!
Dr. Seuss Day
It's that Time of Year!
As the school year winds down, it is important to return overdue books and pay your fines, especially Seniors!
Author Visit: Simone Elkeles
GROWL Book Club members had the opportunity to visit with Young Adult author, Simone Elkeles, at the PSJA Auditorium. Students from all of our high schools attended as well. Ms. Elkeles spoke to the students about her books and even showed us some book trailers she has produced. Every member received a complimentary book and Ms. Elkeles autographed them. The books were provided by Mrs. Nora Galvan, PSJA Library Coordinator, and the Wolverine Library.

Tech Corner: Mentimeter
This free tool allows you to engage your students with the Mentimeter audience response system. Visualize your participants' opinions with real-time graphs and charts. Mentimeter shows the results live while your students are voting with the web based mobile polling app, making sure everyone is a part of the presentation. Involves your students in a fun way!
Come by the library and I can show you some examples and how to set up your own FREE account!
Happy Retirement Mary Gomez!
The Wolverine Library would like to wish Mrs. Gomez a happy retirement. Mrs. Gomez was the PSJA District Library Department's secretary. We are going to miss you, but we are happy for you! Enjoy your retirement. Many blessings!

#Early College High School Week
PSJA Memorial ECHS Library participated in the first annual Early College High School Week Book Display contest. The theme of our display was Early College Makes it Possible! We contacted Wolverine alumni and they sent pictures along with information about what university they attended or are attending as well as their majors and graduation years. We had a great response from our former students and they were very excited to see each other's accomplishments. We currently have students who are about to graduate from Harvard, Cornell, UT Austin, are studying in Washington DC, Michigan State, and many other universities! After viewing the display, current students are now extremely motivated and realize just how many opportunities they have available to them because they are part of an early college high school. One student said, "That's me in two years!"
Bookface Contest
In Celebration of National Library Week, the Wolverine Library held its first ever Bookface Contest. We had great participation with a total of 90 entries. After narrowing the entries down to 15 finalists, the PSJA-ISD Librarians voted and here are the results:
1st Place
Alyssa Tamez
2nd Place
Julia Llanas
3rd Place
Ashley Martinez
Thank You Ms. E. Garner's Class!
The Wolverine Library would like to thank Ms. E. Garner and her 5th grade students from Kelly-Pharr Elementary for also submitting some Bookface pictures. Ms. Garner's son, David, is a sophomore at Memorial. We think her students did a great job!
