September 2023 Edition
What's Happening at GRMS/GRHS?
I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer vacation. It was great to see everyone this past week and to see the hallways filled with staff and students. This year we have a lot of amazing things happening at our school and in our district. One of those things is the Barr Foundation Grant. We have been selected to participate in this opportunity to reimagine the high school experience for our high school students. We will be looking for participation from the students, staff, and community about their thoughts and experiences here at Gateway over the next few months while we are in the "learn" phase of the process.
I plan to send out one of these newsletters once a month to give families a heads up on some upcoming events, share some of the awesome things going on in our school, and spotlight the amazing work of our teachers, staff, and students.
As we start this new year, just some quick reminders:
-If your student is out for the day, please make sure you call the attendance line 413-685-1112 and let us know. While just a call out will be considered an unexcused absence, it is still important for us to know in advance.
-The add/drop period for courses is from now until September 12. If you are hoping to change your schedule, please reach out to one of our amazing school counselors, Ms. Johnson (A-K) or Ms. Allen (L-Z).
If you have questions please do not hesitate to reach out to me, at wsullivan@grsd.org or 413-685-1109, or Principal Finnie at jfinnie@grsd.org. I am excited for a great this year here at Gateway.
Best,
Mr. Sullivan
Assistant Principal
