Words From The East

I can't believe it's almost the end of the school year, yay! That means that Grand Assembly is just around the corner! I know I get really busy at this time of year, with finals and all of the try outs for next year. I just keep looking at our really full calendars and think, "how will I get it all done?" Somehow, magically, it all goes as it should and everything gets done! I am really excited to have mascots this year. I can't wait to see them! Our scrapbook is moving along and so is our bus! Seeing all of this progress just fills me with determination!

Get On The Bus

Grand Assembly is approaching very quickly. The Grand Worthy Advisor has asked each Assembly to create an Assembly Bus with each member of the Assembly participating. We have been working hard to get the Assembly Bus completed. If you have not gotten your picture taken by Mom Candice for the Assembly Bus please let her know when you will be at the next event to get your picture taken. We need everyone's picture for our Assembly Bus. Please call or email Mom Candice today!

District 1 & 2 Grand Reception

We had a wonderful time traveling to our last Grand Reception of the year. This time we headed up to Perrysburg Masonic Lodge to help District 1 & 2 honor their 2015-2016 Grand Officers.

Congratulations Brecksville Rainbow! We were one of the visiting assemblies with the most girls in attendance. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Mom Beth is not responsible enough to keep track of the Traveling Trophy, and in the past we even lost the trophy in the trunk of a car for months, we only get to enjoy our success in a picture.

Do you have a service idea?

Do you have an interesting idea for a new service project? Was there a service project in the past that you really enjoyed? We will be collecting service project ideas from everyone for the month of May. All Rainbow and Pledge girls that provide Mom Beth with a service project idea will receive 5 bonus points toward their merit bars.

Rainbow Chant

You know you always wanted another way to share your pride and excitement about being in Rainbow. Well, we have found a few great chants to help you share your Rainbow love. Try these out and see what you think!

Masonic Trivia Moment

Everyone knows who George Washington was and his impact on America's history. However, not everyone is aware that our founding father, George Washington, was also a Freemason. His first inauguration in 1791, President Washington took his oath of office on a Bible from St. John's Lodge in New York. George Washington wasn't the only man from America's history who was a Mason. Do you know any others?

Calling all Majority members!

Start a new chapter in your Rainbow life or continue writing in a book you never put down. Whether you are 20 or 100 take a casual afternoon to catch up with old friends and make new friends.

Saturday, August 20th , 2016 2 PM – 4:30 PM Western Reserve Masonic Community, 4931 Nettleton Rd, Medina, Ohio 44256 Medina Rd/Rt 18 at State Rt 71 (330) 721-3000

Casual attire (but be reasonable), bring your memorabilia, bring your favorite Grand Assembly mascot, bring your mom (didn’t she drive you all those places?) Former advisors & Rainbow adults welcome too!

Send this invitation to your old Rainbow friends or better yet - just cram them in the car like old times. In 2015 we had about 80 people, let’s double that in 2016. Also - bring a dollar (or more), no fee for us to use the facility but let’s make a donation to thank them.

Bring a dish to share – we’re Rainbow Girls, we’re always hungry !! What will we do? Just like last year, just like when we were Rainbow Girls - we’ll laugh, we’ll scream, we’ll jump up and down, we might shed a tear or two, we’ll tell stories on each other, we’ll share something that made us who we are today.

Grand Assembly Drop-Off/Pick-Up

It is that time of year again when we are planning out of trip to Grand Assembly. This year Grand Assembly will be held at Kenyon College. Grand Officers will leave on Wednesday, July 6th and should speak with their Mother Advisor about transportation options. All Rainbow girls attending Grand Assembly will meet at the McDonald's in Medina, OH (this McDonld's is right off the exit ramp at I-71 South and Route 18). We will be meeting between 7:00 AM and 7:15 AM to load cars and head out. Drop-off will be Sunday, July 10th around 12:00 PM. The girls typically call home once we are on the road Sunday to provide a more specific drop-off time. If the pick-up and drop-off times do not fit into your schedule please let Mom Beth know as soon as possible.
