With the arrival of cold and flu season this winter, I wanted to remind everyone of our exclusion recommendations. USD 232 follows the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment recommendations.
To prevent the spread of disease and to protect your student, please keep your student home and/or make an appointment with your health care provider for the following symptoms:
• Influenza (Physician Diagnosed – excluded for 7 days following onset of illness or duration of illness if the case is immune-compromised)
• Temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher (fever free for 24 hours without the aid of medication before return to school)
• Vomiting – with or without fever (no vomiting for 24 hours)
• Diarrhea (no loose stools for 24 hours without the aid of medication)
• Severe sore throat, headache or cough
• Eyes with inflammation, redness, and watery or purulent drainage
• Streptococcal disease (strep throat or scarlet fever) – exclude for 24 hours following initiation of antimicrobial (antibiotic) therapy; if not receiving therapy exclude from school for 10 days following onset of symptoms.
Book Fair
We invite you and your student(s) to join us on Friday, February 8th from 7:30 - 8:45am "Sneak-A-Peek" of the book fair during our Books and Breakfast family event.
Enjoy a donut and shop the fair with your student. Be the first to check out all the great, new titles! Donuts and milk provided by the PTO. Coffee generously donated by Starbucks.
Please remember...Students should be accompanied by an adult during the duration of the event. Limit one donut/milk per person. Not intended to replace a healthy breakfast from home.
Regular book fair hours are as follows....

- Tuesday, 2/12: 9am - 5pm (closed during Valentine's Day parties)
- Wednesday, 2/13: 9am - 8pm

All items will be shipped for free to the school and delivered to your student's classroom. To make other delivery arrangements, contact Kelly Milam (kelly.milam@gmail.com).
For more information, shop on line or to volunteer to help with the fair, visit http://bookfair.prefamilies.com. Thank you for supporting our school!
Valentine Parties
Classroom parties are from 3-3:40 on February 12 in the classrooms. Thank you to our many parent volunteers who help to make this event happen! Volunteers may go to the classrooms beginning at 2:45. We will be maintaining our normal daily schedule until then, so disruptions to the classroom will be kept at a minimum with your help. All visitors must enter through the front doors and sign-in and out...even on party days! Thank you!
If you plan on attending and would like to take your child with you after the party, sign-out sheets will be available in the classroom. ALL students leaving with a parent MUST be signed out.
