Principal's Message
Several clubs are now in full swing and many more will take shape later this year. Bowling Club has officially returned under the leadership of one of fifth grade teachers, Ms. Lavoie, and this presents a great social opportunity for students to interact with one another after school. Additionally, Mrs. Krish will be advising the Yearbook Club this year. We are excited to see the photography work of our student participants as the memories begin to take shape. Information will be forthcoming. Our Robotics Club will be returning in January under the leadership of our Digital Literacy teacher, Mrs. Cronin. It has been a very busy start to the school year as we introduced the brand new Digital Literacy offering, but remain steadfast in continuing the work with Lego robotics once again.
With the winter season just around the corner, we have begun our Winter Ready, Set, Go! schedule for students. This rotation changes on a weekly basis and places students in three sections of the campus: the upper playground, "Peaceful" playground (to the left of the rear driveway), and inside the school. We take this proactive measure knowing that our playground space will likely reduce greatly with the addition of snow, making it unsafe to fit all 653 of our students on the playground at once. Our schedule is well underway and we are ready for the winter!
In closing, some of you may have noticed that I have been taking video footage of the traffic signals just outside our driveway at the intersection of Route 111 and Lowell Road. No one is in trouble, I swear! I am only studying traffic patterns and trying to advocate for a change in the traffic signals that cross Route 111 up to Hardwood Road. Specifically, I believe that a green arrow/delayed green turning left down Route 111 will greatly improve traffic flow, especially during peak hours of our arrival and dismissal in the morning and afternoon, respectively. As always, thank you for continued patience and cooperation and know that we are working hard to bring forth a positive change and alleviate traffic congestion.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Rory O'Connor
