President's Message:
Thank You to Lori Hohenstein and the volunteers who helped out at Grounds Day this past Saturday. Over the two work days Lori and her team of volunteers worked for hours trimming hedges, removing dead bushes, cleaning the grounds and spreading mulch. Thank you to Carrie and Gary Ward for donating the mums that are now at the front of the school.
There is a general PTA meeting this Tuesday, October 21 at 7pm in the Media Center. We hope to start off with a tour of The Giving Garden. The PTA Annual Financial Review will also be presented. Please join us.

MCES Food Drive Challenge:
Middle Creek is sponsoring our 9th annual food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Each day has a theme to ensure we collect some of the things that the Food Bank needs most, but feel free to bring any food or hygiene items on any of the days. Please NO GLASS PRODUCTS, no loose glass or plastic baby food jars, and no expired food! We'll be stacking the food from wall to wall and floor to ceiling in Mrs. Parrish's office, so bring at least one item each day and let's show her how generous and compassionate MCES students can be!!!
Just drop off donations to Mrs. Parrish’s office each morning of the food drive before the start of school, between 8:00 – 8:30AM.
The Challenge and the Rewards!
We are very excited to announce that this year, if we as a school reach the following goals, students will receive the following reward(s):
- For 1,200 - 1,499 lbs. of total school donations received by 8:30AM on Oct. 22, 2014, students will earn a "Crazy Hat Day"!*
- For 1,500 lbs. or more of total school donations received by 8:30AM on Oct. 22, 2014, students will ALSO earn one day with 15 Extra Minutes of Recess!!!*
*Dates to be designated by MCES.
And no how matter how much we contribute, our greatest reward is in helping others!
Food Drive Dates:
Monday, 10/20: Can and Jar Monday (Peanut Butter, Canned Foods, Nutritional Drinks)
Tuesday, 10/21: Clean Tuesday (Paper Products, Hygiene Items)
