Virtual field trip to the Zoo!

Mrs. Greene's class got to video chat with zoo keepers and learn about all of the local and exotic animals that the Oregon Zoo has to offer. Students were able to ask questions of the professionals about their educations and the demands of being a zoo keeper. We learned so many cool things about animals through our trip to the Zoo.

Hour of Code

The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming. WLMS students were able to program a variety of robots to dance, complete obstacle courses and even draw and write there name. Students were also able to be exposed to a variety of computer languages such as Python, HTML, and Java. Students were entered into a drawing and some won their very own robots to practice coding at home!
