Hello, Parkwood Families!
Welcome to our Parkwood Elementary Family! We have had a wonderful start of the 2021-2022 school year. THANK YOU so very much for allowing us to work with your children and many thanks to everyone who volunteered to make sure our first weeks of school ran smoothly.
During our first week of school, we introduced our students to Panther Pride:
We are Respectful
We are Responsible
We are Problem Solvers
We are committed to teaching building-wide behavioral expectations for all common areas (Hallway, Cafeteria, Restrooms, Playground and Bus). As students practice these traits throughout the school year, they will have the opportunity to earn “Gotcha” tickets to acknowledge their Panther Pride. They will have the opportunity to be a “Bucket Filler” for their classroom and building. They will also have an opportunity to win small prizes each week.
Student Fee statements will be sent home mid-September and fees are due starting the day after. If you need assistance with this process, Fee Waiver Forms will be available in our main office and Mrs. Kersteiner will be glad to assist you.
Please read about all of our PTO events below. There are many new events for this year. We would love to see you at our monthly PTO meetings. Your input and support means a lot to everyone at Parkwood!
I enjoyed seeing everyone who attended our ‘Back to School Bash’ and visited their child’s classroom. We are very fortunate to have such supportive parents at Parkwood. Thank you for sharing your children with us!
Sincerely,
Sue Bamford

If you have any questions about how I can help support your child, please contact me at 937-458-2336 or Cassidy.digiorgi@beavercreek.k12.oh.us
In September I will be meeting with all of our new students to the building in New Student Groups to assist and support our 1st -5th grade students who are new to the district with their transition to Parkwood! I am excited to get to know all of our new Parkwood Panthers!
Parkwood will also continue to offer our “Backpack Buddies” program. This program is intended to support the nutritional needs of our young, developing children of families experiencing financial hardships. Participating students will be provided weekly with a free bag of food to take home, prepare and eat over the weekend. The food items will be delivered discretely and care will be taken not to draw attention to the child. This program is available in many neighboring communities such as Centerville and Kettering and we are excited to be able to offer it to our Parkwood families. Participation in the program is optional. If you have not received a permission slip for this program and would like additional information please contact me.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do for you or your child. I am looking forward to working with our families and community to continue to support our students at Parkwood Elementary!
