Reading At Home
Reading
Reading with your child each night is so important. All elementary students should bring a book home each evening to read. We recommend that each child read at least 20 minutes each evening. This will make a huge difference in their reading ability. Some ways to incorporate reading at home:
1. Listen to your child read a book that is at their level.
2. Read books to your child.
3. Have older siblings listen to younger siblings read and vice versa.
Poems
Students also have a notebook of poems to read from each night. Many of these are silly poems. See how many people your child can read the poems to. Be silly and have them read them in different voices.
Where Can We Get Books?
1. Book Orders - Many of the teachers send home book orders. Often times there are books for as little as $1.00 in these.
2. Visit our local libraries to check out some books

Requests from the Nurse
1. An Extra Set of Clothes
Ms. Julie has asked that elementary students pack an extra set of clothes in case they need to change during the day. Sometimes students get wet on the playground, spill in the cafeteria, get sick, or have an accident. Having some extra clothes makes these situations easier.
2. Water Bottle
Please make sure your child has a water bottle at school each day and that they are sanitized on a regular basis.
