Divine Providence School
March 31, 2022 Home and School Connection

Dear Crusader Families,
We are winding down the days to Spring Break. You can feel the suspense in the air since other schools in the area have been on break. Nevertheless, learning continues each day!
Thank you to all the families that joined us for the Family Mass last Sunday. Special shout out to the hospitality at the end of mass and everyone who took part. We look forward to our next family mass on May 22, 2022.
Yesterday, we were honored to participate with the Archdiocese of Chicago to have a camera crew come to DP. They interviewed two teachers- Mrs. Blase and Mrs. Martin to help recruit teachers to come to the Archdiocese to be a teacher in our system. They also were around our schools in may different locations to record our students while learning to encourage new families to visit a school in the Archdiocese. We are humbled that our school was chosen for this effort.
Grades 5-8 received the sacrament of Reconciliation yesterday. The rest of the school will attend Reconciliation on April 7th.
Tomorrow, with the courtesy of our FSA, our students will be given a BMX program to all our students. This program will deliver a positive message to our students to complete this last trimester to the best of their ability!
Next week is a dine out at Chickies to support all of the great things our FSA does for our student body. Please consider taking a night off cooking and have Chickies do the cooking!
Tomorrow is our Middle School Dance- Hollywood style! Thank you to our volunteers for putting this event together for our students. The permission slip is located below.
They say "April showers bring May flowers". With the weather reports for next week, we may have a lot of May flowers! If your child has a spring jacket, please do not forget to write their name in it. We are constantly finding clothing items that cannot be returned to their owner and they sit in our lost and found.
Click here for the tentative calendar for next school year. More specific dates will come later in the year. The first day of school date will not change.
Finally, as a reminder, students dismissed as walkers should never go to their car IN the car line. If you would like to pick up your child and skip waiting in the car line, you need to be in a parking space- never the 4 car lane. Please remember that students should never cross the street in the middle of the street and should always use cross walks.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead!
God bless!

New recess cart!
While we are using equipment we already have, some of it could use an upgrade. If you would like to consider helping us with some new equipment, please go to our Amazon wish list. All the items are there and you can pick something that works for your budget. All help is greatly appreciated.
