Upcoming Due Dates
Classroom Happenings
ELA: Mrs. Day & Mrs.Goosen
Students should be finishing up their second book of the month. Please remind students to continue to bring their re-read to class every day.
The week students learned how to transition their freewriting jot to a formal piece of writing, a long write. This assignment is posted in Classroom (Companion Book). We are encouraging students to think deeper about their reading by asking why and making connections.
If you would like to support our classroom library, please visit our class Amazon Wish List (Day) or Amazon Wish List (Goosen). Thank you for your support!
Science: Mr. Geringer & Mrs. Oliver
In science this week students explored the skeletal, muscular, and nervous system. We tested our response times and compared them to that of a major league hitter to see if our reaction times were up to hitting a fastball (hint: we weren’t!).
As we progress through our body systems we continue to talk about how they work together to accomplish complex tasks.
Students had a multiple choice quiz on Friday on the functions of organs and parts of each of those systems.
Social Studies: Mrs. Goosen & Mr. Landolt
Students have spent this week beginning the Macroeconomic portion of our Economics unit.
Students learned the basic concepts and vocabulary associated with the unit, and will soon begin creating the Economy of their fictional nation for their Nation Project. They will pick the products that their nation exports, and use a website editor to create a sales webpage for those products.
