Kalkaska's Trout Festival has many attractions, like a car show, a derby, and many rides at the fair. They also have a petting zoo where people can feed goats, kangaroos and ride camels. A lot of people go to trout fest to get an elephant ear (it's not an actual elephant ear).
What trout fest means to the locals
The National Trout Festival is the opening day for trout fishing. Many of the locals come around to celebrate and participate in the events like the parade's, there is a kiddie parade on Friday and on Saturday is the big parade which usually happens at around 3:00 P.M.
