Learning Through Dissection
Mrs. Baker's 6th-grade students at Yulee Middle School students finished their life science unit by doing a dissection of a mouse. The activity allowed them to see first hand how their own body systems look and work to maintain homeostasis. Students were intrigued!
Travel By Reading
Callahan Elementary featured a group of "tackiest tourist" readers during Literacy Week. These tourists went on an adventure with students. Students visited a guest reader's room where they interacted with a story from a faraway land.

Teachers of Tomorrow
Wildlight Elementary School's Teachers of Tomorrow Club surprised the teachers and staff with a Spring Break Survival cart. Some of the TOTS members pushed around a cart full of candy, soda, and CHOCOLATE to help the faculty and staff at WES survive the last few days before break. The Teachers of Tomorrow and Teachers of Today enjoyed the treats!
Dr. Science Experiments at WES
The Wildlight Elementary students in Kindergarten, 2nd grade, & 5th grade had a special visit from a retired high school science teacher & Mrs. Ballard’s Dad, Jeff Ruvolo aka “Dr. Science”. He has been making visits to the students at Wildlight Elementary to share science presentations on the topics they are learning about! Kindergarteners learned all about magnets, 2nd-grade enjoyed a Water Cycle activity, and 5th-grade dove into the human body while learning about different life structures & systems. The students are so engaged with all the knowledge and demos he shared, especially with the blue hair. Thank you, Dr. Science!
