Field Day/T-shirts

Our field day will take place on Tuesday, May 24th. Since the Olympics will take place this summer, Coach Nail has decided that Field Day should also have an Olympic feel. Each class has been assigned a class color and country. We will tie dye white t-shirts in our class color. Please bring a white t-shirt by May 16th. This shirt can be an old shirt with stains, or a design on the front, as long as you are fine with it being permanently dyed.

Here is a list of the homeroom class and the color and country that they will represent.

Weber-Red/Canada, Bingaman-Yellow/Sweden, Lindner-Blue/France, Anderson-Green/Brazil, Littlefield-Orange/Mexico, Sullivan-Purple/Australia, Piscacek-Black/Germany

The third graders are learning about the economy and being an entrepreneur. As a result, they have started a lemonade stand. Each class will be selling lemonade after school Monday through Wednesday. Students can bring $1 for a regular glass of lemonade, or $2 for a specialty lemon drink. The money that the students earn will be donated to local organizations.

Wednesday is Library Day!

We go to the library every Wednesday. Please make sure that your child has their library books in their backpack each Wednesday morning. Last day to check out books is May 11th. Students will need to return all books by Tuesday May 17th.

Pen Pal Field Trip - Date Pending!

This year CSISD Education Foundation granted the ELA teachers a grant to have pen pals with other 2nd graders from the district. The money that was given to us paid for paper, envelopes, stickers, fun pens, and also an opportunity to meet our pen pals at the end of the year. Mrs. Bingaman, Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Piscacek, Mrs. Anderson, and Mrs. Lindner's homeroom classes will meet their pen pals from Pebble Creek on May 20th. Since Mrs. Weber and Mrs. Littlefield's homeroom have pen pals from another school, they will meet their pen pals on another day. The teachers of these two classes will send home information once they hear back from the other school. We are going to go to a local park and have a picnic and play with our new friends. Please have your child wear sunscreen and their Greens Prairie shirt, as well as bring a lunch in a ziploc bag.

Last week of school activites

The last week of school is going to be crazy!

On Tuesday, May 24th, we will have field day. We will update you on times when we have received a schedule. Students will need to bring their tie dyed shirt, a bottle of water, and wear sunscreen that day.

On Wednesday, May 25th, we will have our end of the year party. We will be having a brunch from 9:00-9:30. An email will be sent from your child's homeroom teacher asking for brunchy items and help setting up or cleaning up. We would appreciate any and all help that we can get. At 1:15, we will have our final second grade six week celebration. Students who have had perfect attendance all year will be recognized on this day.

On Thursday, May 26th first, second, and third grade will be having water day. We have ordered several large water slides so that the students can enjoy their last few days of second grade. Please send your child with a swimsuit (and a change of clothes), towel, and have them wear sunscreen.

Finally, on Friday, May 27th, will be our last day of school. We will have a sing-a-long in the cafeteria from 8:30-9:00. Students must stay at school until 10 to be counted present for the day. We will also have early release that day at 12:45.
