Creating a .gif with Google Slides
Graphics Interchange Format
Step 1:
We will format the Google Slide file. Click on Layout and choose "blank"
Step 2:
Go to "file" then "page setup" and choose "custom." From here select the size of your project. If you are doing a banner/header for blogger, you would choose a size that would fit your theme. An example would be 800 x 200 pixels. You will have the option of turning your header into a .gif or creating one for a sidebar. For the sidebar, your may want to choose 400 x 300.
Step 3:
Choose a background for your slides by clicking on "background." You can select a color, transparent, or upload a picture. Once you have decided on a background, decide what feature you would like to animate. In other words, what will be moving across your slides.
Step 4:
Depending on the size and density of your choice, you will copy/paste at least two rows of the objects, maybe more. The second row plus any others will not be on the slide. You will be moving them up or down incrementally to create the animation.
Step 5:
When you have the first slide the way you want it, select it along the left side of the screen in the viewer. Copy/paste the slide. Now on the new slide, select all of the objects on that slide then use the up/down arrow to move all the objects by one click.
Slide 1
As seen on the left side in the viewer.
Slide 2
With all "bugs" selected.
Arrow Keys
Decide if your animations will be moving up - one click at a time or down - one click at a time.
Step 6:
Select slide two along the left-hand side of the screen in the viewer. Copy/paste to create slide 3. On slide three, you will select all of the objects and move them one click using up/down arrow. You will continue in this way until you have a minimum of 20 slides. You need to try to match up you last slide with slide one so that the animation is smooth.
Step 7:
Each slide will be download using "file/ download as/ jpg." They have to be downloaded separately. Once you have all slides downloaded, you are ready to upload them to a .gif maker.
Step 8:
We will be using https://imgflip.com/images-to-gif or http://ezgif.com/maker to make our animations. Here you can upload all slide downloads at the same time. Once the .jpgs are uploaded, you can adjust the speed if needed. If you have less than 50 slides try https://imgflip.com/images-to-gif. This site only allows up to 4 MB. More than 50 use http://ezgif.com/maker.
Step 9:
Add your .gif to you blog as a post using the html embed code.
