Rennell PTO 2021/2022 Highlights

Here’s the Scoop From the PTO Group!!!!

Rennell PTO had another amazing year in 2021-2022 supporting our students and staff. We kicked off the year with our Step It Up Fundraiser, which raised over $60,000 for our school. In the spring, we held our First Annual Spring Carnival! It was not only fun, but also brought in $14,000 for the Redhawks. These two major fundraisers, in conjunction with our various minor fundraisers (Spirit Nights, Spirit Wear, Spirit Shop, School supplies) raised $130,000 for the school! As of the close of our fiscal year June 30, 2022, we spent $147,000 to purchase some exciting new things for Rennell, as well as fund ongoing, yearly programs that support the school. We started the school with $35,000 in carryover from the previous year due to Covid, which is not typical. Our purchases included:

v Book Vending Machine Stocked with Books

v New Soccer Goals

v Field Trips, including transportation for ALL grades

v Ready-To-Grow Garden

v Curriculum Support: Blended Learning Consultant, S’More, Flocabulary

v Supplies for classrooms, PEAM and Science Programs

v AWESOME Parties for the Students- Holiday, 5th Grade and End of Year Parties

On April 25, 2022, we held our Executive Board election. We are so grateful for our nominating committee Cristina Mills, Saloumeh Aghili and Meredith Akers for running a smooth election. Almost every board position was up for re-election. We said good-bye and thank you to several board members who had served for years, and welcomed many new members to the board. We added several new positions this year, and restructured the board to have better role clarification. Thank you for those members who joined us in February to review the updated by-laws and vote on these position changes. We would love to introduce our newly elected board members:

v President- Tracy Roberson

v 1st VP of Major Fundraising- Jennifer Leigh

v 2nd VP of Hospitality- Danielle Stein

v 3rd VP of Minor Fundraising- Jumana Ali

v 4th VP of Membership- Heather Henry

v 5th VP of In-School Support- Corry Baldacchino

v Volunteer Coordinator- Valerie Rodriguez

v Communications Coordinator- Heather Julius

v Programs Coordinator- Christy Holecek

v Treasurer- Nikki Miller

v Secretary/Parliamentarian- Kaelen Enderby

The Rennell PTO has some exciting things planned for this school year. Our first event was the Volunteer Breakfast and General Meeting which was held on Thursday, September 8th at 9:45 a.m. at the Lakehouse. We had a HUGE turnout. Thank you so much for those that attended. The PTO Board and Committee Heads presented the volunteer opportunities for this school year, and the proposed 2022/2023 budget, which will be posted on the PTO website to be voted on by paid members. If you were unable to attend, do not fear! We recorded it on Youtube, and it is posted on the PTO website. All volunteer opportunities will be posted on the PTO website as well There is equal opportunity for all to sign up, whether you attended the meeting in person or watched online! Thank you in advance to all of the amazing parents that join the PTO and help support our students and staff! We have a goal to have 400 families join the PTO this year, and our membership drive is in full swing. So please join today!
