According to live science.com, Deforestation is the permanent destruction of forests in order to make the land available for other uses.

Deforestation occurs around the world with countries like Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, and other parts of Africa. Deforestation has many negative effects on the environment. The quickest solution to deforestation would be simply stop cutting down trees. Removing trees deprives the forest of portions of its canopy, which blocks the sun's rays during the day and holds in heat at night. Not all deforestation is intentional. Deforestation is clearing Earth's forest on a massive scale, often resulting in change to the quality of the land.
