Craddock's Weekly Update
For the Week of August 29, 2022
Mrs. Menta's Message
It was a little odd not having all of our friends with us Friday, but what a beautiful opportunity for our staff to get to know the students better and learn so much about how they read, think and problem solve. We are so grateful for the support of the district to have these two Autumn Assessment days. Thank YOU for being so flexible! We understand it can be a shuffle to get these days figured out.
The four days leading up to today were wonderful as well. The students are practicing our three school expectations, earning poms left and right and getting adjusted to our new voice volume charts hung all around the building. It's been so helpful to have common language to help them understand what level is appropriate in what places. Kudos to our PBIS team for creating this great resource. Check it out below!
There has been a lot of talk surrounding possible new construction in the Aurora School District. Our Superintendent, Mr. Roberto is holding community input sessions for this potential new construction throughout September. You are welcome to come to any of the sessions, but the one focused more on the elementary level will be held on Wednesday, September 7th from 7:00-8:00 at the Conference Center on Pioneer Trail. It's located right in front of the high school. You are invited to come hear what's happening and ask any questions you might have.
Finally, I need to extend a huge THANK YOU to all of the parents who volunteered the first few days of school to help get our car riders and busers to their classrooms safely. It was actually a very quiet start to the year, so not as much assistance was needed as we have in the past. Nonetheless, it was wonderful having all of you and I am grateful for the time you gave the staff and students of Craddock!
Thank you for all of your efforts to help make these first few days back incredibly successful! We are officially up and running here at Craddock and are looking forward to diving into more and more instruction with all this new information about our students. What an amazing group of students! We are so very lucky!
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns! Have a great week ahead!

We are working so hard already to fill up our school pom pom bucket! When we do, we earn a school-wide reward!
Car Rider Protocol - IMPORTANT!
Students can be dropped off at 8:40 a.m. at the earliest! Please do not allow them to exit your car until that time, as there is no staff to monitor them. Pick up will begin promptly at 3:10 each day. If everyone knows the system and cooperates, we will have all students in cars in 15-20 minutes.
Here are some things I need all car rider families to do, which will help immensely.
- Please do not use Willard to line up for drop off or pick up. We are working with the police to get it blocked off, but in the meantime, please avoid it. Enter Hurd Road off of New Hudson and begin lining up there. Please see the map below for guidance.
- Parents are not permitted to get out of their car when dropping off or picking up their child(ren). It is one of the main reasons the flow of traffic slows down. If you need to do that, you must pull into a marked parking spot. Again, we ask you don't do it at all. We have plenty of staff available to help your child in or out safely.
- All students must exit their car on the passenger side of the vehicle. We understand this can be tricky with child locks and car seats, but it is in the best interest of all our car riders to have it be this way. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
- We are not permitting people to turn left into the school from Hurd Road. You will be asked to continue down Hurd, turn around and join the end of the line.
- We ask that you please respect the guidelines we have set up and follow them consistently. Everyone involved in the car rider process, staff and parents, thank you!
If at any time, you wish to change your child's mode of transportation for one or more days, you must fill out the Google form attached. We are no longer able to accept notes, phone calls and/or emails to do this, outside of emergencies. Thank you!
Car Rider Tags Needed for Student Pick Up
Please make sure to review the car rider protocol listed below. In order to keep our kids safe and move the line as efficiently as we can, everyone needs to understand our process. Thank you in advance!!!
A Message from Our School Counselor, Mrs. Ambrosia!
Hello Craddock! I am honored to be your child’s school counselor for the 2022-2023 school year. I am available to support students, families and staff with any social-emotional, academic and believe it or not- career exploration which at Craddock may be focusing on student strengths! There is no question too small to contact me about. I encourage and welcome open-communication as we all have the same goal: school success for your students!
During the school day, I will provide individual counseling, small group counseling and classroom guidance lessons. Initially, I will ensure that all students transition from summer break to their school day with ease. My first visit to classrooms will allow the students to become more familiar with me and explain how I can help them during the day.
The 2022-2023 school year will be my eighteenth year in education. I have spent the previous years working as a classroom teacher, middle school counselor and an elementary school counselor. Helping students is what I love to do!
When I am not at school, you can usually find me at a sporting event for one of my three children: Dominic (11), Daniel (9) and Elle (9). We live around the corner in Hudson with my husband, Brian and miniature goldendoodle, Louie. If there is anything you need, I am here to help! Please reach out via email to email@example.com or 330.562.3175, extension 1260.
School Nurse and Medication at School
If your child needs to take medication at school, please fill out the forms shown below and bring the medication to Craddock. Your child is not permitted to carry the medication in him/herself. An adult must transport it.
If you have any questions at all, please call our main office at 330-562-3175.
The login information is as follows:

Once you are in, go to "Work with students" then "View my students" and you should see all of your students to choose from.
Please be reminded we now have GPS on all of the school buses. You can see when the bus is to arrive at your home. Download the app "versatrans my stop" from the app store and sign in the same as above. If you have any questions or concerns with transportation, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Note, we are never sure how many students will be riding the buses. Once schools open we will make necessary adjustments for buses that may be full. If you did not respond to our survey and your students will not need transportation, please notify us via email.
Thank you and have a safe school year!
Please return your Summer Literacy Passport to school ASAP! We are celebrating all of our summer readers soon!
