Baker family update

Most of you likely know by now the Baker family lost their home in a fire on Friday night (Ian Felix is a 3rd Grader in Mariah's class). The home is a total loss, however all individuals and animals were saved. When Mindy and I spoke today she was very grateful no one was hurt, was in good spirits (everything considered), and shared some details with me. We covered lots of options for our school to wrap around their family and help. For right now, the only request they have at this time is help with dinners.

I have set up a account with takethemameal.com

They have requested some time to process and are asking that we leave all dinners at the front desk. They are not up for any company. I have spoken with the Hampton Inn and they are expecting dinner deliveries around 6:00 p.m. and will get everything to the family.

At this time the family is declining all donations, including clothing, housewares, etc. I will keep you posted if and when we can help in other ways.

Ian will be at school tomorrow and they are hoping for a "normal" day. Mariah is out sick. Stacy and I will check in on Ian throughout the day.

Update on Aveahna

I heard from Krissy Klein today. Aveahna made it through brain surgery. Krissy reported that Aveahna is doing well, graduated from the ICU, and is on the regular neuro-pediatric floor at Childrens Hospital.

Zavrick, Haleigh, and Aaron are staying with friends while Krissy and Aaron are in Denver with Aveahna. The kids are struggling a little and Krissy asked if we could provide a little extra encouragement at school tomorrow for Aaron and Haleigh. Zavrick is in PK at East. I emailed Sarah so they can help with support for him at East.

PARCC Practice Tests for teachers to help familiarize students for upcoming assessments

Budget Update

Please, please be cautious of your copies – especially color copies. There seems to be a lot of copies being made and I am worried about our bottom line.

Please, PLEASE DO NOT engage/sign ANY contracts of any kind without prior approval from Amber – (Websites, Grant Proposals, etc)

Also, there will be NO MORE reimbursements for spending personal money on supplies. I know this could be a hardship at some times, please see Amber for options.
