First Day of Remote Learning - Tomorrow, September 8, 2020

Hooray for the First Day of School!!

Tomorrow is our first day of school with Remote Learning. All this week, September 8 through 11, students will be learning from home while logging into their Microsoft Teams site and following their teacher's agenda. If you have not received an email from your child's teacher, please email them to learn more about this week.

For grades K-3, there are a few steps to ensuring the iPad works correctly when your child logs in from home. Please access the video for signing into the VPN network by clicking here.

See below for a quick video on how to access Microsoft Teams.

Many more technology videos can be found on our district website: https://www.westada.org/TechTips.

Tech support can be reached by calling the IT Service Desk at 208-350-5300, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm.

Accessing Teams

Wifi Hotspots

We are still waiting on receiving wifi Hotspots for our families who are in need of internet services. BMSA staff will be contacting those families this week to find alternate ways to provide lessons and information.

Specialists Schedules

In order to keep consistency between Red (remote learning) and our Yellow (alternating day schedule), our Master Schedule (below) outlines ABCD Specialist rotations for PE, Music, STEM, Library & Computers. Your child's teacher will tell you which Specialist your child will have on every A, B, C, and D day.

*Please note: September 8-11 has been color coded as Red Remote Learning. We do not know yet if we will be in Red Remote Learning or Yellow (Alternate Day schedule) next week. Once more is known, we will email families.

Kindergarten

Families of Kindergartners,

When we transition from Red to Yellow phase, Kindergarten students will attend school everyday with their class. They will not be on the Yellow Alternating Day schedule.

School Lunch Available during Remote Learning

Curbside meal pick up and delivery are available during remote learning for children enrolled in West Ada School District. Lunch costs $2.50, or $0.40 for children with free and reduced meal benefits. Children not enrolled in West Ada School District, or employees, may purchase lunch for $4.00.

Those wishing to purchase a lunch must email nutrition@westada.org no later than 7 a.m. on the day they wish to pick up the meal. The request should include the child’s name, number and school. Meals will be available from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in their building’s cafeteria.

Free and reduced meal benefits are available for those who qualify. Visit this webpage for more information: www.westada.org/FreeMealApp.
